The discussion board was definitely helpful in regards to the
development of my film. A lot of the questions were applicable to my artifact
and the format in which I want to depict it. One of the first questions I found
helpful was the one about how to portray the business aspect of your artifact.
The answers included things that I've already done, such as researching the
company as a whole. This questioned ensured me that I was on the right tract
with my storyboard.
The next question I found to be helpful was asking what kinds of
camera angles were most effective for maintaining the viewers attention. The
answer enlightened my approach to the actually positioning of each object in my
shot. Now I know that the best way to emphasize my artifact is to use the rule
of thirds. The third question that was useful to me was determining the
recommended format. I myself have used iMovie before and found it rather
difficult. I was glad to hear that the QuickTime program is universal, and
transferable across devices.
Another question I found intriguing involved the use of a skit vs. a
voiceover power point. My plan was to do voiceover film, but it was interesting
to consider taking it in a more creative, abstract direction. Now I know that
there are endless possibilities for the composition of this project. Since
my initial plan was to have a recording with voice over, the question involving
whether this or slides with written words was best, stood out to me. The answer, which suggested a mix, made me
consider integrating some readable, interactive slides into the film.
Overall the
discussion board was very helpful and informative. I'm glad I had a chance to
take a peak at everyone else's ideas and viewpoints. I hope they will only further my endeavors in the creation of this movie.
